These instructions are for windows, but I doubt any linux user would have any issues adapting this for linux, it’s the steps involved that are important.

Before you start, it is important to backup your entire database. It’s just common sense you know. Backup your views (if any) and your queries also. Do not forget your custom reports (System > Design > Reports), at this point I might point out that when editing/saving a custom report, you should set the grade to anything other than a 0. Because 0 will let it get overwritten.

Determine database version:
System > Master Information Database Information

Determine client version number:
Help > About

http://sourceforge.net/projects/postbooks/files/

You need the latest version of the following:
1. PostBooks-installers
2. PostBooks-updater
3. PostBooks-databases

Existing DB: 3.3.0
Existing Client: Build 6996 (It actually means I was running client 3.3.0, but I didn’t know it at that time)

For my case, a direct database update to 3.4 was not possible, so this was what I had to do:

1. Run Updater-2.2.0 with pb330to331.gz, then
2. Run Updater-2.2.0 with pb331to340.gz
3. Install xTuple-3.4.0-windows-installer.exe, choosing only to install the client.
4. Viola~

If you’re facing issues with PostBooks/xTuple, I would strongly recommend that you register a user account in their community forums, they are pretty quick and knowledgeable, which is really cool for an open sourced company.

There are many types of geeks in existence, physics geeks, math geeks, gamer geeks, tech geeks, and more commonly otakus. Basically there are mild differences between how an otaku and a geek should be, but the generally accepted idea is that most of them are good at what they do, so you might be a foodie geek for all you might know.

Rule 1: Pick something you are really good at. For one, you cannot be a sleeping geek, no matter how good you are at it. Unless you know the scientific differences between sleeping on conventional mattress vs a tempur mattress, AND you can plot it against an actual economic study relating sleeping and sex, then you are a sleeping geek.

Rule 2: You must snigger in contempt if you know someone is wrong. This is very important, you must snigger or blow up in anger, whether it is in front of the person you are humiliating, or inside your head, or when you go home and blog about it. You MUST understand why that someone is wrong, and write an essay of how (or explain of the equivalent) and why that person is wrong.

Rule 2A: If your objective is to be an irritating geek, remember to validate your claim in such a way that your opponent of choice has no way of retaliation. And remember to be smug about it.

Rule 3: Show your love as a geek. Always carry an item which quantifies you as a geek. For example, if you’re a gamer geek, show it with your uber shirts, character key chains, wow lingo, etc. etc.

Important: What you shouldn’t do is, buy a somewhat geeky item, and TOTALLY not know how to use it, and pretend that you are a geek. This will somewhat lower your social status of being a person, which in certain circles, will cast you down to many levels below a geek status. Also, it is very depressing for someone to carry a chocobo keychain, and NOT know what a chocobo is.

Bonus 3A: If you carry an geeky device, make sure you have hacked it to do “additional features”. ie. jailbreaked your iphone to change a theme. Or your pda can replace your car remote, or your psp can use the latest custom firmware, etc, etc.

Rule 4: Have a favourite weekly read
Scientific America, BBC Weekly, WSJ, Sunday Shonen, Dilbert, etc, etc. This way, you can quote intelligent people and still be a fashionable geek.

Rule 5: You must have a stubborn point of view, which can only be validated by an obscure source, which only a fellow geek will understand. For example, IE6 is baddddd.

Rule 6: Pick a god. When I mean god, I mean supreme entity which you will kneel down and call father to if he/she/it ever appears in front of you. ie. Jimmy Choo, Mark Zuckerberg, Sergey Brin, Larry Page, Steve Jobs, Hideo Kojima, Satoru Iwata, Nobuo Uematsu, Neil Gaiman, Stan Lee, Rumiko Takahashi, Akira Toriyama, etc, etc.

Hopefully, these 6 points will aid you in your quest to become the geek of your choice! LOL!

In this title, there are no Magic Points, only Ability Points which will recover at one point per end of round. There are 20? 22 classes available, each with their own skillset/ability.

ホルンの町 Horun town
北の洞窟 North cave
魔女の館 Witch’s museum
海賊のアジト Pirate’s hideout
？？？？ ???? Between Liberte and The art place village
動物の小道 Small path of animals
狩場の洞窟 Hunter’s cave
妖精の道 Path of the fairy
ウルペスの街 Urepesu city
世界樹頂上への道 Path to the world tree
エルバ Elba
世界樹の根 Root of the world tree
世界樹頂上への道 Path to the top of the world tree
インビディア地下 Underground Inbidia
天空への塔 Tower of the sky
ロランのココロ Roland’s heart
スペルビア Supervia
星の奈落 Abyss of Stars

When you reach Supervia, there’s a few things you can do:

Fastest battle points gain, with minimal exp.
- Boss fights are worth 300 bp.

- Just fight against any shopkeeper while in human form. 1 battle is worth 5bp, and you can set it to auto (press x). You can have about 4-5 battles in 60 seconds.

Calculation: 4 battles x 5 bp x 60 Mins = 1200 bp

If you earn wifi Battle Points, the maximum you can get is 1440 BP per hour, with 4 players.

Calculation: (Seconds in battle) x 60 Mins * Number of players / 10

Alternative method, you can equip use two travellers, set battle to auto, select the 2point run ability, and just walk around blindly, or use the horn to increase enemy encounters. This is actually _really_ useful when you find the 4 towers.

Diamond/Crescent Gem drops after space time has been distorted
- Change to animal form, and talk to the Goat outside Roland’s room, he’ll tell you where Roland is.
- Find Roland in the basement of Tower of Sky (Left of Supervia), near the part where you find the HP regain pot of water.
- Go back to the fountain, and into Roland’s heart.
- Enter 3 doors and kill 3 enemies
- Go back to town and save
>>
- Level up your merchant class to lv2
- Have 3 merchants + 1 no class OR 4 merchants and equip the ‘no loss in gems after dying’ item
- Enter the center room in Roland’s heart.
- Use merchant’s ability to search for gems and rare gems (First 2 skills)
- Just die, and you will appear at the town’s save point
- Rinse and repeat
>>
You can _only_ get crescent gems (2,000G) or diamonds (5,000G) from mining this boss.

If you get 3 gems, you’ll get at 6,000G to 15,000G (3 x 2,000G to 3 x 5,000G)
If you get 6 gems, you’ll get at 12,000G to 30,000G (6 x 2,000G to 6 x 5,000G)
If you get all 8, you’ll get at 16,000G to 40,000G (8 x 2,000G to 8 x 5,000G)

Selling for a profit in Urepesu (I have tried it, it is quite hard to get right, or maybe I did it wrongly)
bind 2 x 1,500 books, sell at 5,000 to earn 2,000
bind 2 x 1,000 books, sell at 5,000 to earn 3,000 (promote)
single 1 x 1,500 book, sell at 5,000 to earn 3,500 (promote)

Leveling up your armour/weapons in Urepesu
You can level up your items in a blacksmith shop on the right, over the bridge. He will use gems to upgrade the stats of your weapons/shields/armour. If you level up once, a +1 will appear beside your item name. Initially, you can only get up to +9. After you get to the 80th (?) floor of each tower, you will battle different variations of Bahamut, it will definitely drop the an item, which you can bring to the smithy. It will increase your max upgrade by 10 levels per item you bring to him.

Miscellaneous tips and trips
- The monsters/bosses level up with you.
- Changing names of magic books, this is available west of this town.
- You can upgrade the short sword in the beginning of the game +2 atk +2 magic atk per upgrade, very cool. (Upgrade in Urepesu)
- You can steal Ribbons from the bear in the path of animals. (Use thief class) It’s the only thing worth stealing in my opinion.
- The merchant crown’s final ability negates enemy defence and does damage equivalent to (your current gold)/100. It will cost you a flat fee of 1,000 Gold to use it every time. Then again, by the time you get 1,000,000 gold you’re probably near the end of the game.
- After you get the golden key from Roland, you can access the 4 towers.

Credits: Some information have been gotten from gamefaqs’ forums, some from chinese strategy websites, and some from my own discovery.

Contraire to the popular belief, that’s wrong. There’s probably nothing more wrong (or right) about you as compared to someone 10 years younger than you. In fact, someone younger than you may have more ridiculous issues that make them less desirable (ie, how should I part my hair this morning, what clothes should I wear to look cool, etc etc.)

There are, of course, exceptions to everything, including this myth:

It is by your choice you are single (ie, you are smothering hot, or enjoy swinging too much to take relationships seriously, or you have the I hate wo+men because they are evil syndrome)

You think you have a choice because you are single. This includes the delusional group of people who think they are in the category above.

You haven’t found the “right” one. Do note here that the “right” one, may not always be the “available” one, in which, that’s wrong, regardless of the scenario. Or, you’re waiting for the “wrong” one to become the “right” one, or, you’re waiting for the “right” one to popup magically.

(There are some more points which I can bring to illustrate, but my lawyers tell me there is a limit to the number of people I can piss off on a daily basis, I believe it has something to do with the nonexistent payslip that I keep promising to send them. But come on, that’s what you send nonexistent lawyers isn’t it?)

At this point, you _may_ or _may not_ have realised this, but you will find that the chances for finding mr/mrs “right” magically INCREASES when you hit 30. To be really scientific about this (Not that I really employ any scientific mumbojumbo to any actual facts, but it always makes me look smarter, and more credible whenever I pull up a random statistic, like the fact that I usually do this 34% of the time.)

Again, to be really honest about it, it’s not easier per se. The age of 30 is more or less the socially accepted age to get married in Singapore, which means, whether you realise it or not, you are subconsciously trying harder, or using wider search conditions to find mr/mrs “right”. Nothing magically appears out of nowhere just because you wish for it, except for real magic, but you still have to pay alot for being tricked, which brings us to the main point of this article:

If you want/need to be in a relationship, for goodness sake, please do something about it. Don’t wait until you are 30 to decide! You will have much less choices! It’s obvious, JUST LOOK AROUND, ALL THE GOOD STUFF ARE BEING TAKEN UP! THIS IS WAR! Get into a relationship before you reach 30!

For some reason, people don’t seem to relate finding a job with being in a relationship; it’s quite similar if you asked me.

If you don’t need a job, fine. Don’t rant about it, it irritates people. ALOT. Seriously!

People will only offer you a real job, if they think the job suits you, so, be grateful and don’t brush it off yet.

If you are not well paid enough, ask for a raise, get better qualifications, improve yourself, use sex as leverage, whatever.

If you are not happy, and you have most definitely tried everything within your power, change the job.

By the time you are 30, you should have enough experience to know exactly what you want, how to get it, whether it is within your reach, what to ask for with regards to your ability, and most importantly, what to expect.

If enjoy perpetually job hopping, good for you!

Repeat after me: ANYTHING ELSE IS A BONUS. You know what a bonus is? Don’t bluff! ALL SINGAPOREANS LOVE BONUSES.

** That being said, some people are more easily content than others and they are always happy, or it is just the way they are that makes them who they are, and sometimes, all it takes is one job, it is really simple : )

By the way, talking about it is NOT doing something about it; anyway, whoever gave you the idea that talking about the lack of a partner will get you one? It is a freaking turn off! Complaining doesn’t work, trust me. Cos at the rate I was going I should have like 20 of them. At the end of the day, it is your own happiness and your future that you set out to create. Do you _really_ think that everyone has got nothing better to do than snigger behind your back when they find out you met your spouse in SDU? Nowadays SDU is like a sales event, the earlier you get in the queue, the more choices you have, and the more likely you’ll find “the one”. It is really just statistical, the more attempts you have, the better your score.

Bonus paragraph for the women out there (only because I love you girls): *preps loudspeaker* A wakeup call for you sleepers, this is the 21st century, women are enjoying sex (or at least pretending to be) as much as men. If you are the quiet type and you are waiting to for _that_ guy to make the first move, chances are if you like the guy, some other less deserving vulture will too. I’m not saying that women should always make the first move, or first strike = sure win, but if you asked me, I’ld rather go down in flames than lose without a fight, after all, that _could_ be your future you’re staking here. If you think your future is not important, please drop me an email, I will scold some sense into you.

For the guys: *HELLO* what’s _your_ excuse for not being in a relationship? REAL MEN DON’T TAKE BREAKS, REAL MEN MOVE FORWARD, REAL MEN ARE SHAMELESS, REAL MEN ARE FUN, and REAL MEN WILL FIND THOSE REAL WOMEN OUT THERE AND MAKE THEM HAPPY. *super lol* But it’s true, isn’t it?

At this point I may like to point this out the people who think like this:

All men are jerks

All men want sex

All men want more women

All women are bitches

All women are materialistic

I will end up being hurt or hurting someone in a relationship

People who think all of the above is true

You know what? It’s true, it’s all true. You have to accept that anyone, including yourself has ever played a role in one of the above. Personally, if you can’t accept that, how do you expect other people to accept your own faults? A relationship is NOT magical, there is NO happily ever after, there is NOTHING that works just out of the box. You have to WORK for your relationship to WORK. It is probably not clear enough because some of you folks just watch too much tv drama, some you have never been in a working relationship, and some of you practically live in Disneyland. You have GOT to be some kind of naive to actually think that everyone’s a mind reader, and everything will work your way. *please let me win toto this year I only need one win* RIGHT.

ALL RELATIONSHIPS ARE MAGICAL, YOU JUST NEED TO WORK FOR IT.

If you’ve ever been to Tokyo by yourself, you will know that it is ridiculously messy if you’re trying to find a particular store or location by yourself. Especially those areas which the locals go to for super authentic non touristy food/fun/sights. You will also know that the free maps from the airport are useless for these purposes, some streets are so tiny, that most locals don’t even know they exist, and even on taxis with GPS, they have to search for it. Don’t get me wrong, there is fun casually walking and bumping into new areas, but when you’re in a hurry, it is SUPER irritating.

Even most updated english travel guides don’t have detailed maps, I mean like you can’t expect them to tell you where each store in harajuku, or the blue label in shibuya is located, but you get what I mean.

This is not a joke, if you can figure out the shortest way to even get from the west side of shinjuku JR to the east side of shinjuku JR, please let me know, I’m dying to know. What I usually do is I take the JR pass walk into the station and cut across it, or I just walk around it (!?)

I have no idea why no one has ever compiled a list of maps that are available online, but since I’m already compiling for my friends, I might as well share it with you folks that are or might know someone else who is going to Tokyo.

The rar file is made up of maps from:

att-japan (PDF English, chiba, fukuoka, JR, kanagawa, kyoto, nagoya, nara, niigata, nikko park, osaka, sapporo, tokyo, yokohama, ripped from att-japan.net)

superfuture (GIF English, shopping maps, ripped from superfuture.com)

tcvb (PDF English/Japanese, Ginza, Marunouchi, Odaiba, Roppongi, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Asakusa, Asakusabashi, Ueno, Yanaka from tcvb.or.jp)

tokyoessentials (GIF English, Asakusa, Ikebukuro, Odaiba, Roppongi, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ueno)

Akihabara - (JPEG Japanese. There is a map which you can get from the station or just outside the station that is in ENGLISH, will most of the more popular shops. This is a life saver.)

infomapjapan.com (PDF English, Tokyo Asakusa, Ueno, Akihabara, Marunouchi, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Roppongi, Sapporo, Sendai, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Umeda, Kyobashi, Namba, Bay Area, Nara, Kyoto, Kyoto Station, Kawaramachi, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Kobe, Takayama, Kurashiki, Okayama, ripped from infomapjapan.com

Personally I use a combination of google maps, virtual maps, a japanese travel magazine, and a bilingual map book which I happened to buy at a Kinokuniya while I was in Shinjuku. I would highly recommend a bilingual map as the local streets are usually written in Japanese, and most guidebooks are written in either Japanese or English only.

If you need a physical map, this is the one I’m using: Tokyo City Atlas: A Bilingual Guide (3rd Ed.)

For shopping fanatics, I would recommend a Japanese shopping magazine for girls. Yes, it exists, the Japanese magazine is very simple. There’s ONLY maps of Harajuku, Shinjuku, Omotesando, Shibuya, and Ginza. Sure, it’s in japanese, but it’s updated and if you need to shop, you need to shop, there’s always a way : D

There’s also a food guide, if you’re not rich enough (who is, seriously???) to try out all the food listed in the Michelin Guide Tokyo 2010

And finally, here’s a preview of the maps which you can download from HERE (41 MB)

Dump your original NDS cartridge into a .nds rom file, or simply just go download a .nds rom file.

Unpack your .nds file file using dslazy.

Find sound_data.sdat in NDS_UNPACK\data\Sound\

Copy it to the same directory as ndssndext.exe

Fire up a command prompt, and run

ndssndext.exe sound_data.sdat

Viola~ Most, if not all the audio files ought to be in the newly created directory. And yes, I now have the really irritating mario rpg3’s sounds as my sms/ring tone : D

Files are here:

http://www.4shared.com/file/169027534/5df5c6ef/extract_nds_audio_tools.html

This is a freaking big annoyance. If you install windows 7 with more than one harddisk, it will automatically make the 2nd harddisk some kind of backup directory which windows refuses to format. Yeah sure, it’s a great add in, but really irritating when you decide to plug out that drive. I really wanted to format it and so I fdisked it on an ubuntu iso.

Then when I tried to boot back to windows, I was presented with the alimighty black screen which says bootmgr is missing, press ctrl alt del.

Disconnect all your drives, leave the harddrive with windows 7 intact.

Boot off windows 7 bootdisk, select “repair your computer” after selecting time/date.

You now have 3 possible ways, from easy to most difficult, if the first doesn’t work, try the second, then the third, if all else fails, re-install.

Option A: Let windows repair the BCD

Option B: Manually rebuild the BCD via recovery console

Option C: Delete offending BCD dir, rebuild BCD manually, make the windows 7 partition the active partition, let windows repair the BCD for you, then reboot.

It took me a few hours of my life, and I found the solution here. Considering that a windows 7 installation takes only 15 mins on my comp, I hope this will take you less than 15 mins to fix.
